The JSS Medical institutions have had a long-standing legacy in

The University Grants Commission (UGC) declared Jagadguru Sri
Shivarathreeswara University, Mysore as Deemed-to-be University, hailing
an important milestone in strengthening the educational evolution of
some of the pioneering institutions. The 4 constituent colleges under
the ambit of the University are JSS Medical College, Mysore, established
in 1984 the JSS Dental College in Mysore, established in 1986 the JSS
College of Pharmacy, Mysore, established in 1973 and another College of
Pharmacy in Ooty, which was established in 1980.
Spread over Mysore and Ooty, the University makes for a serene and
conducive setting for students and researchers to learn, and grow. To

Eligibility
General Eligibility for various courses
- As per MCI/DCI/PCI norms
- As prescribed by the respective regulation of the JSS University from time to time.
Age
The candidate should complete 17 years of age on or before 31st
December in the year of admission for any undergraduate programmes.
Undergraduate Admission
Requisite qualifications for MBBS
- The candidate seeking admission to MBBS courses should have passed
the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination PUC II/HSC or the Indian
School Certificate Examination (ISCE) or any other examination
equivalent to 10+2/ HSC examination of any recognized Board / University
from any School / Colleges in India / Abroad after 12 years of study.
- The candidate should have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry,
Biology & English individually and must have obtained at least 50%
marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together in the
qualifying examinations i.e. PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent and for
SC, ST, category-I & OBC the eligibility will be 40%.
- The candidate should also have secured at least 50% marks in
Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together in the JSSU Enterance
Test and for SC, ST, category-I & OBC the eligibility will be 40%
for admission to MBBS course.
Requisite qualifications for BDS
- The candidate seeking admission to BDS course should have passed the
Higher Secondary Certificate Examination PUC II/HSC or the Indian
School Certificate Examination (ISCE) or any other examination
equivalent to 10+2/ HSC examination of any recognized Board / University
from any School / Colleges in India / Abroad after 12 years of study.
- The candidate should have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry,
Biology & English individually and must have obtained at least 50%
marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology aken together in the
qualifying examinations i.e. PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent and for

Requisite qualifications for B Pharm
- Pass in H.Sc.,/PDC/PUC (10+2) with an aggregate of 40% and for SC,
ST, category-I & OBC the eligibility will be 35% marks in Physics,
Chemistry, Botany, Zoology or Biology or Mathematics. Passed in English
Language.
Requisite qualifications for Pharm D
- 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects
along with one of the following subjects: Mathematics or Biology.
- A pass in D.Pharm course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.
Requisite qualifications for Pharm D. (Post Baccalaureate)
- Pass in B.Pharm from the recognized University and approved by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.
Post graduate Admission
Requisite qualifications for Medical & Dental programmes M.D. / M.S. / M.D.S. / P.G. Diploma Courses:
- The candidate seeking admission to these courses should have passed
MBBS, BDS examinations from the college recognized by Medical
Council/Dental Council of India, and should have completed internship on
or before 31st April in the Admission year.
- As per the regulations of statutory bodies, as laid out in
Post-Graduate regulations 2000 of Medical Council of India, the minimum
percentage of marks in the entrance test for eligibility for admission
to Post-Graduate courses shall be 50 % for all candidates and for SC,
ST, category-I & OBC the eligibility will be 40%.
- Foreign / PIO / NRI students need not appear for JSSU PGET. Their admission will be based on qualifying examination marks.
MCI/DCI Norms: Medical and Dental PG Degree and Diploma Courses:
Every student, selected for admission to the Post-Graduate
medical/dental course in any of the medical institutions in the country,
shall possess recognized M.B.B.S/B.D.S degree or equivalent
qualification and should have obtained permanent Registration from the
Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India, or any of the State
Medical / Dental Council or should obtain the same within one month from
the date of the admission, failing which the admission of the candidate
shall be cancelled. Provided that in the case of a foreign national,
the MCI/DCI may, on payment of the prescribed fee for the registration,
grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post-Graduate
training restricted to the medical college/ institute to which the
applicant is admitted for the time being exclusively for postgraduate
studies; provided further, that temporary registration to such foreign
national shall be subjected to the condition that such person is duly
registered as medical practitioner in his own country from which the
applicant has obtained his/her basic medical qualification and that
his/her degree is recognized by the corresponding medical council or
concerned authority. If the candidate fails to fulfill the relevant
eligibility requirements as mentioned above he/she will not be
considered eligible for admission for Medical /Dental PG Degree and
Diploma courses.
Requisite qualifications for M. Pharm
- A candidate who has passed B. Pharm degree examination of any
recognized University and has secured not less than 50% of the maximum
marks (aggregate of four years) prescribed for the qualification
examination shall be eligible for admission to the M. Pharm course
examination shall be eligible for admission to the M. Pharma course.
